Welcome to Wiener Privatklinik. The WPK is an affiliated hospital. This means that the doctor you trust works in our clinic. Thanks to our proximity to the university hospitals and our close contact with the top medical experts who research and treat patients there, you can be sure that you will be treated with the best and most modern methods currently available in medicine.

Room

Depending on your insurance policy or, if you wish, for an additional charge, you can enjoy the comfort of one of our stylish single or twin rooms. Make yourself comfortable in your own private oasis of well-being and enjoy your stay in an exclusive ambience.

Accompanying person

Of course, you also have the option of admitting an accompanying person during your inpatient stay at the Vienna Private Clinic.

Visiting hours

Visits in single rooms from 08:00 to 22:00 – the number of visitors is unlimited.
Visits in a twin room from 16:00 to 20:00 – 1 person per patient is permitted.

For children up to the age of 14, visits are possible throughout the day. You are also welcome to visit outside of visiting hours in our cafeteria. Thank you very much for your understanding and consideration.

Parks

As a patient or visitor, you can park your car in our underground car park (entrance at Pelikangasse 15). Please use the intercom to contact the porter at the entrance – he will inform you about the current rates and available parking spaces.

Before you leave the car park, please pay the parking fee to the porter, where you will also receive the token for the exit.

Accessibility

We do everything we can to make our facility accessible and barrier-free for everyone. This includes

  • Barrier-free access: no steps, automatic doors, wheelchair accessible
  • Lifts: Accessible without steps, wheelchair accessible, tactile labelling and Braille
  • Corridors and entrances: No steps, continuous handrails on all floors
  • Disabled-access sanitary facilities: On every floor, wheelchair-accessible, grab rails, round-the-clock emergency call service

Whilst

During the stay

At Wiener Privatklinik, patients have the opportunity to bring their trusted doctor with them, as we operate as a private hospital. Affiliated doctors usually come for ward rounds or special procedures and are not on site around the clock.

However, our permanently employed GPs are available for daily medical care and in emergencies. They are on duty around the clock, support the attending physicians and provide rapid assistance in acute situations thanks to their training as emergency physicians.

If a specialist from another speciality is required, a consultant will be called in at the request of the attending physician to ensure comprehensive care.

Messenger services

Our courier service will be happy to run errands (magazines/books/…) for you at the clinic on request and is available to run errands to the post office.

Culinary offer at five-star level

Our chef will spoil you every day with a selection of exquisite dishes at five-star level: from lighter to more sophisticated. On request, we can also customise our culinary offerings to suit your cultural requirements, be it kosher, vegan or other diets.

Enjoy your meals in the stylish ambience of our cafeteria or on the idyllic terrace, a green oasis in the centre of the city. Alternatively, we offer you exclusive room service or the option of dining in the elegant patient restaurant in the glass loggia.

For light refreshments, a large tea buffet is available on every ward.

Personalised advice for your well-being

At the Vienna Private Clinic, we offer you comprehensive support for your health and well-being. Our experienced dietician will advise you individually on nutritional therapy and healthy eating – from obesity to special diets after operations or for oncological diseases. We also take intolerances into account and offer customised meal plans.

Psychosocial and psychological support is also available on request. Our ward team will be happy to help you organise a consultant doctor to provide you with the best possible support in challenging life situations.

Pastoral care

We feel obliged to meet our patients on a very personal level. Especially in unusual situations, such as a hospitalisation, it is good to find support on a spiritual and emotional level. If you would like spiritual counselling, please contact our nursing staff or ask the porter.

Individual rehabilitation and physical medicine

Our experienced team of specialists in physical medicine, physiotherapists and massage therapists will draw up a customised therapy plan for you, which will be adjusted regularly. Referrals are made by your attending physician.

Our treatment rooms are located on the 2nd floor of the south wing and are easily accessible via the lift or the staircase. Therapies take place from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:00. Patients who have just undergone surgery are also treated at the weekend.

Beauty Lounge

For a relaxing visit to the hairdresser or a pampering manicure and pedicure, please book in good time with our professional care team. We offer personalised advice and high-quality treatments to enhance your beauty and give you a break from everyday life.

Restrictions on the use of mobile phones

Please note the mobile phone restriction in critical hospital areas! High-frequency electromagnetic radiation can interfere with a range of devices – from heart monitors to electrical infusion pumps – in the hospital, which can lead to dangerous situations.

Photographing or filming WPK staff, doctors and the clinic’s technologies and rooms is also not permitted. We ask you to respect this rule during your stay.

Afterwards

Discharge management

Discharge management at Wiener Privatklinik was developed to ensure seamless care at home after your hospitalisation. We see ourselves as the link between your stay in hospital and the care you receive at home.

Our team is on hand to answer your questions, prepare your discharge and, if you wish, involve your relatives and trusted persons.

Our range of services includes

  • Clarification and assessment of your current care situation and care needs
  • Individual information and advice on various care services such as home help, home nursing, acute geriatrics, short-term care, meals on wheels and assistance in applying for care allowance
  • Coordination and organisation of the discharge

When you check out, you will receive confirmation of your stay, with or without a diagnosis if you wish, either from the ward secretary or in the admissions office. On request, you can also receive all findings electronically.

Findings & reports

After your discharge, we will send you the final or operation report to your home address. This can also be given to you directly by your doctor as part of a follow-up examination. You can request a copy of your medical history and the findings obtained at the Vienna Private Clinic after your stay.

Convenient departure

Our patient escort service is at your disposal for your departure. We can easily organise a taxi or patient transport for you so that you can get home safely and comfortably.

The WPK Emergency Card provides 24-hour access to outpatient care at Wiener Privatklinik. It ensures that you receive excellent medical support not only during your hospital stay, but also in urgent situations afterward.

The card keeps essential information at hand, and your stored patient data allows for faster admission. After your stay, you’ll receive the emergency card for future use—making it easier to access medical services when needed.

We also support you in selecting renowned specialists and obtaining expert second opinions.
