The Central European Cancer Center of the Wiener Privatklinik

The Central European Cancer Center, which brings together specialists from all disciplines involved in cancer diagnosis and therapy, was founded at the Wiener Privatklinik years ago. At the origin of this foundation was the idea that it should be possible to offer largely similar diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a private hospital environment as those offered in a specialized hospital. Of course, the start had to be made through cooperation with state-of-the-art radiology, nuclear medicine (especially diagnostics using positron emission tomography) and interventional radiology as well as molecular pathology before therapy options could be considered, ranging from internal oncology as a sub-discipline of internal medicine, which also includes subjects such as gastroenterology and cardiology, and radiotherapy to surgical disciplines including lung and abdominal surgery, gynecology and urology.

Other medical disciplines such as neurology, ear, nose and throat diseases, dermatology and physical medicine were also included. Today we are proud to be able to offer specialists from all these fields for the benefit of the patients entrusted to us, who not only have first-class medical quality, but are also recognized in the respective international societies in a particularly large number of cases, so that we can claim that the patients treated at the Wiener Privatklinik and its Central European Cancer Center are provided with the latest and best therapeutic procedures. This close interaction is also expressed in the regular holding of interdisciplinary tumor boards, in which each medical case is discussed and the best possible treatment is provided.

Our work at the Central European Cancer Center also receives international recognition, as many patients from near and far abroad come to us for treatment, whereby the time between diagnosis and the start of treatment can be reduced to a minimum thanks to structures of a manageable size at a private hospital.

The Central European Cancer Center at the Wiener Privatklinik thus serves cancer patients in many ways by linking specialists from a wide range of diagnostic, surgical, internal oncology and radiotherapy disciplines, which leads to a rapid diagnosis and an equally rapid and efficient start to treatment using the latest methods from the various disciplines, all of which may lead to a lasting improvement in the condition of cancer patients.

Cancer Day 2024 will also be celebrated with great respect by the Central European Cancer Center at Wiener Privatklinik, as we all pledge to do everything in our power to provide cancer patients with the best possible diagnosis and treatment with great respect, and to join forces to achieve a good outcome that is also committed to quality of life.
