What can you expect during your stay?

In-room amenities

Bathrobes and slippers are provided upon admission free of charge. Each bathroom has a hair-dryer and a magnifying mirror available for your use.

Attending Physicians

Wiener Privatklinik is a private hospital that is closely associated with numerous independent physicians, all renowned, and highly qualified professors and specialists in their respective branches of medicine. Our patients may bring their trusted physicians to treat them at our hospital. All physicians‘consultation billing is independent
Furthermore, our hospital has been closely associated with Vienna’s University Hospital for many years. Many of the most renowned professors and senior physicians treat our patients every day.

Visiting Hours

At Wiener Privatklinik Hospital visiting hours are flexible. However, we kindly request our visitors to observe our 8 am to 10 pm visiting hours out of consideration to other patients.

Flowers

Flowers bring brightness and cheer to your room. However, some flowers are not suitable for hospital rooms, potted plants may contain strains of bacteria that may be hazardous to our patients ‘health. Such plants are strictly prohibited. Vases are available at all wards for freshly cut flowers.

Messenger Service

Our messenger service will be happy to run errands for you at our hospital. Please contact us on Ext. 9 or on +43 1 40180-0.

Books

A library is available on each floor of the north wing. Additionally, you can purchase new books at the cafeteria on the upper level of the south wing.

Cafeteria

Our comfortable café lounge is located on the upper level of the south wing. It offers the finest sweet and savory snacks, baked goods, and beverages to satisfy your hunger and thirst. It also offers a great selection of bestsellers to satisfy your intellectual needs.

Cafeteria Opening Hours

From 9.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Monday to Friday From 10.00 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and all Holidays
Should you wish to order food or beverages in your room, our cafeteria is a phone call away during working hours.

Dietician

Our dietician is available during your stay for nutritional therapy and meal selection, as well as diet and nutritional advice – Tel. +43 1 40 180 Ext. 8414.
Patients are encouraged to request an appointment while being admitted, to avoid a long wait for their consultation. For a dietary consultation, prior consent of the attending physician is a must. A consultation on questions of healthy nutrition is possible without prior consent. No extra costs are incurred for such consultations.

Food and Beverage

Our “à la carte cuisine” is available from 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and from 12.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. You may also choose to order a snack for the evening during these hours. For further details, please refer to the menu available in your room.

Hair Dresser, Manicure and Pedicure Service

If you would like to visit the hair dresser, or get a manicure or pedicure, please contact the nursing staff for more information on how to make an appointment.

Garden - Terrace – Park

Our garden, park and terrace offer peace and relaxation for patients and visitors – all in the heart of the city. The entrance is located above the cafeteria on the upper level of the south wing. Our WPK cafeteria staff will be happy to serve you outdoors.

In-House Physicians

Our highly trained in-house doctors are available on-site for our patients 24 hours a day, providing exceptional, professional and safe heath care for our patients at all times. They are the first contact point for medical care and emergencies and work closely with our nursing staff to support attending physicians on each case.

An in-house technician is available to assist you with any technical problems you may encounter. Please phone + 43 1 40 180/7753.

Toiletries

On admission you will receive a complementary toiletry bag containing toothpaste, toothbrush, hair comb, soap, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, nail file, shower cap and a sewing kit.

Consultants

Should your condition indicate the need for further medical investigation during your stay, your attending physician will contact a specialist or more for you.

Internet and Fax

Your hospital stay should not hinder you from following up on your business, or keeping in touch with friends and family. WPK provides all admitted patients with wireless internet throughout the entire hospital. To activate our WIFI, access codes can be obtained at the reception desk or from your nurse. In the cafeteria on the upper level in the south wing there is a computer with free internet access for general use. Moreover, to use the telephone landline in your room, please request an access card at the reception desk. It is also possible to send or receive faxes via the central fax machine, located at the nursing station. For more information, please contact the nursing staff.

Crutches

Crutches are available for use while admitted at the hospital for an extra charge. For further use following discharge from Wiener Privatklinik, patients must fill out a rental form from the department that issued them. Should you wish to leave the hospital without the crutches, we kindly ask you to return them, along with the rental form to the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Meals

For your convenience, you are asked to select your three meals for the following day every morning. The daily meal plans will be brought to your room in the morning and collected by the nursing team.

Breakfast is served starting 8:00 am

Lunch is served at 12:00 noon

Dinner is served starting 5:45 pm

Between meals at mid-morning and in the afternoon, you will be offered a snack of fresh fruit, yogurt, or cake. Should you have any further requests, please contact the craft service team on your floor at:

Furthermore, we offer our patients room service at all times. As a patient of Wiener Privatklinik, you always have access to our rich tea buffet. You can find the tea buffet at every nurses’ station in the north wing. These offer a rich selection of beverages. For further information, please refer to the menu in the room.

Mobile Phones

While mobile phones are permitted in the hospital, we ask our patients to kindly note that in certain areas, such as the surgical wing, or our cardiovascular interventions unit, electromagnetic waves from your phone may interfere with our equipment. As such, we ask for your consideration of the above when placing a call, and to kindly confine mobile phone usage to your personal rooms.

Patient Restaurant

We would gladly serve you your meals in the patient restaurant, which you can find in the glass loggia between the south and north wings on the 3rd and 4th floors. Please contact our craft service team on your floor.

Physiotherapy

Our department of physical medicine and rehabilitation consists of specialists in physical medicine, highly qualified physiotherapists, and healing masseurs. Any physical treatment is recommended by your physician. The physiotherapy specialists reviews all
information and draws up a personalized therapy plan for each patient. This plan may be adjusted based on the patient’s progress. Your therapist will contact you for an appointment. The treatment rooms of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation are on the second floor of the south wing. At the elevator, turn right and follow the signs. Therapy takes place Monday to Friday between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday mornings are primarily dedicated to the post-operative supervision of patients.

Mail

Please include your room number on your outgoing mail, which our messenger service will be very happy to mail at the post office for you. Kindly contact Ext. 9

Psychological Care

At difficult times, it is often imperative to seek psychological help. Should you require psychosocial or psychological counseling, please do not hesitate to contact your medical team to arrange for an appointment.

Counseling

Our commitment towards our patients is on both a professional and personal level, especially in situations where spiritual or psychological support is required during a hospital stay. Should you feel the need of such support, please contact our nursing staff or reception desk Ext. 9.

Day Clinic

Our new day clinic is conveniently located in the center of the ground floor. For same day procedures and interventions, our specialists are available to consult, diagnose and treat outpatients. The clinic also houses a comfortable lounge for our patients to relax and recover.

Phone

Every room has phone, internet, and fax connections. By depositing EUR 15, you will receive an access card, which you insert into the phone to make calls. For overseas calls, please dial “0” followed by the number. Charges will be mailed to you after you are discharged. Local calls are free of charge.

Television

Every room has a television set installed. German, and several international channels are available to offer our multinational patients news and entertainment in a familiar language.

Laundry Service

Your towels will be changed daily; however, due to environmental reasons, we prefer to change bed linen less frequently, unless you so desire. Please notify the nursing staff if you do.

Newspapers

You will receive a daily newspaper at breakfast. Additional newspapers and magazines are available for an extra charge.

Room

Depending on your insurance policy, or your desire not to incur additional charges, you will be offered a single or double room stay. Upon admission, our nursing team will visit your room to get your medical history and required details. Each room offers the following amenities:

Room Service

A room service menu is available in your room, offering a delicious variety of food and beverages.

Complimentary refreshments are available for our patients and guests on all floors. These can be found at the end of each north wing corridor.

Information About discharge and after your stay at Wiener Privatklinik Hospital

Discharge from the Hospital

Following your discharge from the hospital, you will receive your medical report at your residential address within 1-2 weeks from discharge. This may also include appointments for follow up examinations.

Confirmation of Stay

You will receive a report of your stay when you’re being discharged. You will need to inform the ward secretary or the admission’s office if you’d like your diagnosis to be included.

Copies of Diagnostic Report

While being discharged, you will receive your personal copy of all diagnostic reports from the Wiener Privatklinik. Should you require any further details on discharge procedures, please feel free to contact our administration office, who handle all clinical records at +43 1 401 180/7056, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Discharge Letter and Diagnostic Report

Following your discharge, the final report will be sent directly to your home address. In some cases, doctors give their patients the report themselves during a follow-up examination. This letter provides information on your treatment, as well as hospital phone numbers and the name of your personal health care contact person.

Emergency Card

Please be sure to get your personal Wiener Privatklinik emergency card. In emergent cases, please present the card to the ambulance paramedics, who will immediately bring you to the Wiener Privatklinik. This service is available 24/7.

Patient Notes

You may request a copy of your medical records following your stay. Please contact our administration at: +43 1 40 180 – 7056, Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Take Home Medications

Kindly contact the nursing staff should you require any medication or prescriptions to take home following your discharge.
